Light a candle of remembrance

On 22 June 1941 Nazi Germany attacked the Soviet Union and the Great Patriotic War began. More than 27 million Soviet citizens died in that war. Most of them were civilians in the occupied territories who perished through deliberate killings, organised starvation and inhuman living conditions. Please light this candle in memory of everyone who died in that war.

About the film “Not on the Lists”

21 June 1941. Kolya Pluzhnikov, a young lieutenant, arrives in Brest to take up his first permanent posting. The crowded waiting halls of the railway station and the throng of people loaded with luggage do not trouble the young man, who is full of hope. Kolya hurries to where his unit is stationed — the Brest Fortress. There is no time to enter him on the roll of serving soldiers: at four in the morning the artillery shells begin to fall — the war has started. He was never entered on the roll of the Brest Fortress garrison, yet he took part in the fighting all the same.
